Samsung showcased their super thin Youm
Smartphone with rolling, folding, bending ability and OLED display at Consumers Electronic Show 2013 event in
Las Vegas and is being taken as the next generation smartphone.
Our past experiences with outdated technologies states
that new technology is shrinking the techno gadgets, with time. There was a
time when desktop computer market was blooming in IT industry but arrival of
handy tablets, laptops and smartphone completely diversified the market. Change
is the demand of time and when talking about techno gadgets, they are reducing in
size, getting lighter and becoming human friend day-by-day, where Romo Robot and myKeyID are the perfect instances for the same. Samsung is one of
such manufacturers who are working on making high-end techno-products and
unveiling most innovative product in market for you.
OLED Display
OLED Display
Samsung showcased this outstanding technology specimen in
CES 2013 with super thin form factor for future smartphones and tablets. Samsung Youm
features advanced OLED display technology to let users experience
amazing
colors and contrast while imaging. The product is constructed such a way
that you can even bi-fold it and keep in your wallet. While showcasing
its prototype in
CES, Brien Berkeley, the senior vice president of Samsung, demonstrated
it with
bending its sides from all around, very easily. So, company built up
this device
body with some malleable material, which is no doubt a secret of the
company.
Youm’s flexibility
This Future
technology will allow you keep your smartphone bi-fold in your wallet, roll
it to put in your pen stand and bend its around edges for adjusting in your small pocket
also.
Other manufacturing competitors in market
Though one can
carry his notebook and smartphone today, in a handy bag and
pocket, still customers
doesn’t satisfy with such extend. In this hectic schedule of life and
with such a fast run up, an average customer expects some extra
portability and attractive
look of handy devices. So, companies are drilling down in depth of
technologies
for making their products more attractive and handy.
If you are thanking
Samsung to bring such a nice innovation for you than please note that Samsung
is not the solo player who is working on this technology. Many other main-stream
manufacturers are also capitalizing regularly on their research and
developments of innovative products for beating their competitors. And in this case, other companies like Nokia and LG are also working on similar project
and both of them have already demonstrated flexible prototypes for their future
tablets and smartphones.
PaperTab tablet and e-book
If you as taking it as the extreme edge of smartphone technology,
I would ask you to think again and be ready to wait and watch for more magical
innovations in coming days. Here I could not stop myself introducing you with Paper-thin
tablet. Most recently I have read about this coming technology in a most
popular monthly magazine ‘Electronics For
You’.
As per this book,
researchers at Intel technologies, Plastic Logic and a Canadian college working
on a tablet called PaperTab which is as thin as a paper and claimed to
be used like a tablet or an e-book. It is made up of some flexible material
with bendable and flexible plastic screen and a prototype of this device was also
shown in CES 2013.
I shall describe PaperTab
in more detail in my upcoming articles. You just keep up with me for getting
more updates on forthcoming technologies.
Do you have any
question about above said technologies and want to share your reviews with other?
Please do write them in below comment box. I am always here to give you relevant
solutions at my level best.
